November 17, 2025
On November 18, 2025, Loutel’s co-founders Robyn Forman Pollack, Esq. and Christina M.
Reger, Esq., shared a meaningful dialogue at the Pennsylvania Recreation & Park Society
(PRPS) PA Parks and Rec Summit: The DEI Advantage: Navigating the Landscape of
Inclusion – Law, Risk & Culture. The event took place at Temple University in State College, PA, a collaboration between PRPS and Temple University’s School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management.
A Day of Insight and Action
The session, The DEI Advantage, explored the intersecting landscape of law, risk, and culture and offered practical strategies for organizations to advance inclusion in everyday practice. Robyn and Christina illuminated how legal considerations, risk management, and cultural stewardship intersect to create environments where people can thrive.
Key themes included:
- Law and compliance as enablers of inclusive outcomes rather than barriers.
- The triad of people, culture, and community as the foundation of sustainable progress.
- Actionable strategies that organizations can implement now to invest in talent, belonging, and organizational resilience. A Collaborative, Real-World Focus
The session highlighted real-world issues that organizations face daily, and offered concrete steps to navigate them. Attendees left with:
- Practical frameworks for aligning DEI initiatives with risk management and governance.
- Tools to assess and elevate workplace culture without sacrificing compliance or performance.
- Tactics to foster inclusive leadership, equitable opportunity, and a sense of belonging across all levels of the organization.
Gratitude and Connections
The event would not have been possible without the generous inclusion by Debra Blair, and the value of connection facilitated by Elizabeth Barber, PhD, CHE. The collaboration with PRPS and Temple University’s School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management underscored the power of cross-sector partnerships in advancing inclusive practices across recreation, parks, and community spaces.
